AI Auto Completion: Your Debugging Frenemy
About Me
I am Achsah Jojo, a Computer Science student at California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB), specializing in software engineering. While Computer Science wasn’t my first choice, it became one of those unexpected yet rewarding paths in life that constantly shape my future. It was during college where I developed a deeper interest in technology and began uncovering the software behind computer applications, sparking my interest for pursuing a career as a Software Engineer. I am driven by the challenge of making technology work seamlessly for people, whether through developing front-end or back-end systems or leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to simplify everyday life.
I grew up in Karnataka, India, till the age of 10, surrounded by family members working in healthcare and education. My experience with programming in high school was far from ideal as I found it difficult to grasp. Naturally, I assumed I’d follow in my parents’ footsteps and pursue a career in healthcare. However, my dad encouraged me to give Computer Science another chance, he told me college might help me see it from a different perspective.
He was right! I started to enjoy being a computer scientist, largely due to the guidance and support of the Computing Talent Initiative (CTI) cohort and dedicated professors who instilled a sense of belonging in this field. The innovative and engaging methods of learning introduced through CTI, coupled with the supportive community, provided me with the encouragement to persist despite being one of the few women in a traditionally male-dominated discipline. This mentorship and sense of community not only increased my confidence but also broadened my perspective on the vast opportunities available within Computer Science.
At CSUMB, I’ve been gaining hands-on experience in front-end and back-end software development, skills I know will be invaluable in my future career. I’m genuinely excited about the work I’m doing and the possibilities ahead. If you’d like to connect or share similar interests, I’d love to hear from you!
